Bench handling

Care & handling

A few small habits keep calibrated melee on-spec from the parcel envelope to the mount.

Receiving

  • Open the parcel envelope over a velvet tray, never over an open bench.
  • Check the QC sheet against your order: shape, mm range, color/clarity, ct weight.
  • Re-bag the parcel into the original wrap until you're ready to set — repeat opening and closing is the most common source of yardage loss.

Cleaning before setting

Ultrasonic + warm dish soap for 30 seconds, then a short steam pass. Don't use ammonia on the parcels — it doesn't harm the diamonds but it can fog the parcel paper labels and make re-sort tricky later.

Storage

Keep the parcel sealed and labeled. We supply parchment parcels printed with the original PO number, shape, mm, color/clarity, and reactor batch (for CVD/HPHT) so you can always trace an unset stone back to its lot.

Returns of unset melee

Unset, unmodified parcels can return within 14 days for restocking. Sealed and labeled parcels restock at 100%; opened parcels restock at 90% to cover the re-sort.
